Seducing Cinderella Review

Mixed martial arts fighter Reid Andrews’ chance to reclaim his title as light heavyweight champ is shattered when he’s injured only months before the rematch. To make sure he’s healed in time, his trainer sends him to recuperate under a professional’s care—Reid’s best friend’s little sister, all grown up.

Disorganized and bookish Lucie Miller needs some professional help of her own. She’d do anything to catch the eye of a doctor she’s crushed on for years, so when Reid offers seduction lessons in exchange for 24/7 conditioning for the biggest fight of his career, Lucie jumps at the chance.

Soon Reid finds him himself in the fight of his life...winning Lucie's heart before she gives it to someone else.

It wasn’t so much the title but the synopsis that grabbed me.  Seducing Cinderella by Gina L. Maxwell was one of the launch titles for Entangled’s Brazen imprint and within less than a month, it hit the New York Times Bestsellers List.  If that’s not enough of a recommendation, I don’t know what is.

I have to be honest and say that whilst it sounded great, at first I wasn’t sure I would enjoy reading the book because I deal with orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists on a daily basis as it is but it turns out that I did enjoy it, especially when Reid burst onto the scene ;)  A mixed martial arts fighter with a hot body and a fiery thirst for life? COME TO MAMA.  He’s hot in all the right ways and even though I’m not keen on the fighting aspect (although in some ways, I have to admit that it’s hot) I would have no hesitation in going out with Reid.

Reid has known Lucie since they were kids but hasn’t seen her in some time, they meet again when Reid has to recover fast from an injury and Lucie becomes his full time physiotherapist.  She’s agreed to go all out on the condition that Reid helps her seduce the surgeon she’s been lusting after for years – the guy who’s barely noticed her FYI.  The lines become a little blurry; as you can imagine and it seems that more than one guy is sitting up and taking notice of Lucie now.

I have to tell you that I LOVED the book.  I thought the writing was excellent with no cheesy/corny dialogue and I loved the fact that it wasn’t all about the sex – although the tension was great!  Lucie and Reid actually got to know each other again and were interested in doing so which was nice to see.  I don’t really have a bad word to say about the book and I’m really impressed overall.  I understand that there will be more books in this series and I will DEFINITELY be reading them and anything else this lady writes.
