Letterbox Love (#55)

As always, Letterbox Love is a weekly feature that I'm hosting on the blog and basically, the idea came out of a discussion with other UK book bloggers about the need to do a weekly meme with more of a British feel to it. Therefore, Letterbox Love was born and the logo was lovingly designed by Dark Readers. Letterbox Love is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e books (through our electronic letterbox) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about. Letterbox Love is intended to showcase upcoming books and build up some excitement for them as well as let you know what is available out there. It is not about competing with other bloggers or boasting of any kind (c'mon, we're British and we don't do drama!)

Review Books

I did not receive any review books this week and in some ways, I'm quite glad to have a slow week!

Books Bought

Phoenix by Elizabeth Richards
I really enjoyed Black City and so it was inevitable that I was going to order the sequel.  I feel a little bad actually as I won an ARC of this a while back and I still haven't gotten round to reading it but at least I bought a finished copy!

eBooks

Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Bought)
Not only does this book sound amazing but the fact that it's written by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the icing on the cake.  I remember seeing snippets of this posted on her blog whilst she was writing it and I'm so glad that it's now been published! Looking forward to reading it :)

My Side by Tara Brown (Bought)
This book has got my name written all over it, seriously.  I love relationships that start off with the two main characters at loggerheads with each other and I think I'm really going to enjoy this one.

Four Summers by Nyrae Dawn (Bought)
I seem to remember a friend recommending this one and it sounds like the perfect summer romance read.

Unbreak Me by Lexi Ryan (Bought)
This book has the potential to annoy me (mainly the main character) but I've seen nothing but five star reviews for it and I want to give it a chance.

The Vampire Code by E.C. Adams (Bought)
This is another recommendation from a friend.  I love books about vampires that has a fresh take on the genre and this sounds like one of those special books.  When I fancy reading a vampire novel, this is the one I'm going to pick up.

Romancing the R.A. by Ashelyn Drake (Bought)
I like the sound of this New Adult romance novel which sounds like a quick and enjoyable read.

Lost and Found by Nicole Williams (Bought)
Usually books are all about the bad boy but this one is about a bad girl and a golden boy which has me interested. AND he's a cowboy *swoon*

Beauty from Pain by Georgia Cates (Bought)
This is an adult contemporary romance about an Australian winemaking magnate and the American girl he has a three month affair with.  The fact that this guy arranges his dates like business deals and starts breaking all the rules with this girl means that this has the potential to be a great romance.

Because of You by T.E. Sivec (Bought)
This is the sequel to A Beautiful Lie and whilst I haven't read it yet, this is on sale at the moment and so I jumped on it.

Gemini by Penelope Ward (Free)
I didn't buy this just because I'm a Gemini but because the synopsis intrigued me and I was impressed with all the five star reviews I saw for the book.  I want to know what the guy's big secret is and why he was send to seek out the main character!

Angelfire by Hannah Peach (Free)
This is billed as a book that Cassandra Clare fans will love which is a bold statement indeed! I do think it sounds interesting and I love the idea of the girl's life being linked with the guy who she saves (if she dies, HE dies and presumably vice versa).  I'm definitely interested to see if this book lives up to its claim.

Breaking all the Rules by Kerry Connor (Free)
Not only does this feature a Marine *swoon* but he's looking for more from the girl he has a history with and she doesn't want it.  Hooked.

The Fallen Prince by Shea Berkley (Netgalley - For Review)
I love the cover for this and the synopsis sounds intriguing, I just hope it's not a faerie book.

Sadly, I haven't had much time to read recently and am unlikely to get time until I go on holiday!  I will tell you that I'm planning to take my e reader with me (which has TONS of books on it) but I'd also like to take Angelfall by Susan ee.  What are you reading right now? I hope you all had a great week for books and as always, please leave your links below.

  2. I met Elizabeth Richards at an author event earlier this year, and she talked a bit about Black City & Phoenix, now I really want to read them, they sound good! I'll be interested to see what you think of the other books, too.
