Letterbox Love (#29)

As always, Letterbox Love is a weekly feature that I'm hosting on the blog and basically, the idea came out of a discussion with other UK book bloggers about the need to do a weekly meme with more of a British feel to it. Therefore, Letterbox Love was born and the logo was lovingly designed by Dark Readers. Letterbox Love is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e books (through our electronic letterbox) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about. Letterbox Love is intended to showcase upcoming books and build up some excitement for them as well as let you know what is available out there. It is not about competing with other bloggers or boasting of any kind (c'mon, we're British and we don't do drama!)

Review Books

The Declaration by Gemma Malley
The Resistance by Gemma Malley
The Legacy by Gemma Malley
Gemma Malley's books have recently had a cover makeover and look better than ever in my opinion (although I can't help being reminded of The Hunger Games and Divergent as the books have a circular symbol on each of them).  Obviously, this is a dystopian series that has been around for a while but I'm keen to find out what it's all about.

The Disappeared by C.J. Harper
This is a British dystopian novel and that fact alone makes me want to read it.  It comes out in January, 2013.

Thank you publishers!!

Books Bought

Reached by Ally Condie
This is the third and final book in the Matched series, a series I have loved since the beginning.  Reading this will be bittersweet but I can't wait to find out what happens and how it all ends.

Black City by Elizabeth Richards
I've been waiting to read this for the longest time and the fact that the movie rights were sold a month before the book was published only intrigues me more.  Surely it won't be much longer before this has a UK publisher.

Renegade by J.A. Souders
Renegade is a debut novel and the first in a new series set in an underwater world.  I think this sounds fresh and interesting.  I have high hopes for this one.

EBooks

Touched by Corrine Jackson (Bought)
I LOVE the sound of this book as it's about a girl who can heal and I've been wanting a story like that for the longest time.

Taking Chances by Molly McAdams (Bought)
This is a New Adult novel and I like the idea that she falls in love with two boys at college - the kind of boys that she was warned to stay away from.

Lengths by Liz Reinhardt and Steph Campbell (Bought)
This is a contemporary New Adult novel and I wanted to sample some of Liz Reinhardt's writing.

You Had Me At Hello by Mhairi McFarlane (Bought)
It's a debut novel that's set in the UK, it's funny and it was only 99p.  What more do you need to know?!

Charade by Nyrae Dawn (Bought)
Another New Adult novel and it sounds good - I like the idea of play acting, pretending to be something else and then it feels so real, that you're not acting anymore.

The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay (Bought)
This character driven romance and New Adult novel has nothing but five stars on Amazon and it looks like I bought it just in time as the kindle version has been pulled.  On further investigation, I see that it's been picked up by a publisher and will be released next June by Atria books. That fact alone has me intrigued but I wanted to read it before I knew that.

Derailed by Alyssa Rose Ivy (Bought)
A New Adult novel about a girl who goes back home after the death of her fiancee and basically finds a way back to the girl she used to be.

Just Remember to Breathe by Charles Sheehan-Miles (Bought)
This New Adult novel is an ANGST FEST and I love me some angst.  I also find it intriguing when romances are written by men.  This book has my name all over it.

In the Band by Jean Haus (Bought)
Another New Adult novel about a girl who tries out for a local rock band and has some major chemistry with one of her band mates.  Too bad he's a jerk but that makes for some interesting reading, I'm sure ;)

On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves (Bought)
This is billed as a love story with a twist and film rights have been optioned.  A thirty year old teacher and a younger man get stranded on a desert island together.  I like the sound of this - I loved movies like Castaway and The Blue Lagoon.

Fall From Grace by Christine Zolendz (Bought)
I believe this is a New Adult paranormal romance and that's why I wanted to read it as so many of the New Adult novels I'm picking up are contemporary.

Tell Me You Want Me by Amelia James (Bought)
A New Adult novel that is a steamy romance and that's practically all I know about the plot LOL.

That Boy by Jillian Dodd (Bought)
This sounds a little bit like The Vincent Boys to me (which I loved) and so of course, I had to read it.

Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard (Bought)
This is a New Adult novel about forbidden love and I thought that would be good.  I love forbidden romance.

Disastrous by EL Montes (Bought)
I can't work out if this sounds a bit like Fifty Shades or not but I want to find out.

Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy (Bought)
Another New Adult paranormal book that I bought for the same reasons listed earlier.

Awakening by Elene Sallinger (Bought)
This is an adult novel that was recommended to me and what impressed me into buying it is that it won the new writing competition at the Festival of Romance 2011.

Rock Me by Cherie Lynn (Bought)
Who doesn't love a bad boy? Nuff said.

Accidentally Married to...a Vampire? by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff (Bought)
The title grabbed me first.  This is an adult novel and I think it sounds really good - lots of snark, a dominant vampire, a human woman belonging to a vampire according to their law.

Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye (Bought)
I love the idea of two strangers being trapped in a dark lift together.  Apparently, it's quite a short book but an interesting one all the same!

Life of Pi by Yann Martel (Bought)
So of course I'd heard of the book before now but I never had any inclination to read it.  Truth be told, I didn't even know what it was about but then I saw the AMAZING movie trailer and I knew I had to read it.

Rock The Heart by Michelle A. Valentine (Bought and for review)
I actually received an ARC of this but had some problems getting it onto my laptop so I bought a copy as it was released early.  I just love the idea that a rockstar writes a song about the girl who broke his heart and calls it "Ball Busting Bitch".  SOLD.

Love Evolution by Michelle Mankin (Bought)
Based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, this is a New Adult novel that is centred around a rock band.  Any New Adult novel that is inspired by Shakespeare has me officially intrigued.

Love Revolution by Michelle Mankin (Bought)
Inspired by Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, this is the second book in the series and is set around a record label.

Oh dear God, after promising myself that I would not buy anymore ebooks this month, I have bought 24 of them this week alone.  In my defence, what happened was I started looking at a list on Goodreads that had New Adult recommendations on it and then someone took over my body and started buying them using *MY* Amazon account.  Therefore, I do solemnly swear that I will not buy any ebooks in the next week so that my bank balance can have a short rest and these posts don't take as long LOL!  I hope you all had a great week for books and please leave your links below.

I cannot wait to read Reached, and I'm still holding out that Black City will be published in the UK at some point.
I've seen loads of 5 star reviews for Renegade lately. I'm definitely intrigued, and I'll look out for your thoughts on it.
    Have a good week!
