Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, originally started by Jill at Breaking the Spine , that highlights upcoming book releases everyone is waiting on...hence the title. This week's pick is Hereafter by Tara Hudson. Here is the Goodreads description:

"Can there truly be love after death?

Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.

Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.

Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss."

OK, firstly I am in love with the cover which is simply DIVINE. Secondly, this is a very, very special book. Want to know why? Because it's published on my birthday which is 7th June and therefore it automatically carries a certain special significance to it ;) And thirdly, I love the storyline and how a relationship is forged out of death defying circumstances. If you know me, the books I like and my own writing which I've been working on for some time now (which is also a ghost love story) then you'd know that OF COURSE I'm going to like this book. I'm so, so glad that it's being published both in the US and the UK although we have to wait an extra month as it isn't released until 7th July in the UK. Y'all know how much I love hardbacks, right? So naturally, I'll be getting it on my birthday...hopefully :D
