Letterbox Love is a new weekly feature that I'm hosting on the blog and basically, the idea came out of a discussion with other UK book bloggers about the need to do a weekly meme with more of a British feel to it. If I'm honest, we also wanted to stay out of the drama surrounding The Story Siren right now too. Therefore, Letterbox Love was born and the logo was lovingly designed by Dark Readers. Letterbox Love is a way for us to share the books that come through our letterbox, galleys and e books (through our electronic letterbox - see what I did there?!) and any other bookish goodies that we want to tell you about. Letterbox Love is intended to showcase upcoming books and build up some excitement for them as well as let you know what is available out there. It is not about competing with other bloggers or boasting of any kind (c'mon, we're British and we don't do drama!)
So, without further a do, here's what I got this week...

I should probably point out at this point, that a lot of my bought books were pre-orders and bought when I had money lol. I hope I'm showing you that book bloggers buy A LOT of books and don't just rely on advanced copies. In fact, if I love a book that I've read in advance, I will buy a finished copy of that book.
It is my plan to get Mr Linky working on here so you can all link your Letterbox Love posts but in the meantime, I would love you to leave a comment with the link to your post and I will check them out :) Thanks everyone :)
Great idea, not sure I'm organised enough to post this week but I will definitely be joining in next week.

Glad to hear that you'll be joining in soon!! And yes, I think The Selection has one of the best covers I've seen in a while!
DeleteI love this new meme. It's exactly what i was looking for as i'm a UK book blogger. Thanks for creating it.

http://kristina-worldofbooks.blogspot.com/2012/05/in-my-mailbox-54.html
The Immortal Rules was awesome and I can't believe I still haven't started The Bodyfinder series yet!
DeleteI love seeing the British covers. So jealous of the British Cashore covers. They're way more hardcore.
ReplyDeleteMy New Arrivals.
That's the second time I've heard that from an American - I bought the US covers initially as I thought they were prettier LOL
DeleteWe have some books in common or at least from the same series. Looking forward to getting to The Selection. Hope you enjoy all your new books.
ReplyDeleteSafari Poet
Thank you and me too, I'm also looking forward to seeing it as a TV show (hopefully)
DeleteGahhh so many amazing books! I'm so jealous, especially since you got Rapture! I'm excited, but I really don't want the series to end! Great haul!
ReplyDeleteMy Stacking the Shelves
I think I've managed to get hold of a very early copy of Rapture as it's not a proper ARC (it's printed and bound by the publisher). Apparently it's really good so I'm looking forward to reading it as I loved Passion!
DeleteI've been so excited about joining in with Letterbox Love this week - it is such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI got Rapture this week too and I can't wait to get started on it :)
Here is my Letterbox Love post: http://onceuponaseries.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/letterbox-love-1.html
Glad to see that it's going down well and people are joining in! I'm with you on Rapture!
DeleteOh you got Adorkable, so want to read that and The Last Echo (why is the Uk one so different?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, lovely, and enjoy your books!
Here's my Letterbox Love: http://wp.me/p1WDt5-8l
Lucy :)
I don't know why the covers are different in the UK but I prefer the US covers for Kimberley Derting's series.
DeleteI'm excited to have a UK meme to share our books :-) I'm a new follower, I found out about the meme from Kirsty (Overflowing Library) and then came over here this week.
ReplyDelete'Adorkable' sounds fun, and lots of people seem to be getting 'The Selection' - perhaps I should have a look for that one?
~Ailsa
My Letterbox Love post.
Definitely have a look at The Selection, especially as I believe it's going to be a US TV show. Thanks for joining in :)
DeleteThose US Hardbacks look sooo pretty! Im jealous we dont get as many over here. You got so awesome books, I hope you enjoy them
ReplyDeletePS. I did Letterbox Love but wasnt sure what was going on with the hosting of it, I will link back to you next week! :D
I'll admit that it sometimes costs me a small fortune to get the hardbacks but I do love them so!
DeleteThank you - this is such a great meme! I love seeing everyone's pics. I'm in the U.S. so I love seeing the U.K. covers and comparing them to the U.S. version! I'm not a book blogger so I don't get a lot of new books, so I've started doing "Old Books I Recently Bought" Mondays so I could (sorta) participate in these memes LOL! Okay, fine, I'm just a wannabe, but I do love reading everyone's posts!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks for commenting. You could always start a book blog if you're interesting in reading and reviewing?
DeleteLOL - unfortunately I think that might be a conflict of interest (and time!) with WRITING books. If I had discovered book blogging before I started writing, though, I might have opted to become a reviewer rather than an author LOL! Clearly book bloggers have WAYYYYY more fun. ;-)
DeleteI do love to see other people receiving and buying so many books! lol I'm trying to revive my blog, and make it more book orientated, so I might take part in this. Is it ok to do so, and do you do it on a certain day of the week?
ReplyDelete@bookclubforum
It's absolutely fine for you to join in, the more the merrier! It tends to happen on a weekend and I like to post mine on a Sunday.
